We can't believe time is passing so quickly.
We're up to 29 or so commands given to us. Not that I know all of them very well, but some of them we might not use very often. We've learned and practiced "car" as a command this afternoon. This is the command for the dog to jump up into the car and sit quietly until I clip it in and Susan and I get in. Worked like a charm, but little Leeta was totally impressed with our PT Cruiser and its gull wing door. We opened and closed it a couple times so Leeta could marvel at the wonder of it all.
Tomorrow is our first outing. We're going to BestBuy. Something about getting an I-pod and a Wii console for the dog. Apparently that's how they're trained to exercise.
Naw - just pulling you leg Laura . . .
Actually it's just a fairly quiet, open store in which the damage we do will be minimal. We're only there for a brief time and it's back "home" to decompress.
We also learned a command for all of you today as well. Leeta knows how to shake paws. We do ask that when you meet her, you don't initiate this behavior, It's up to me and her to initiate.
Things are going fast, Susan's doing well, I'm not getting too befuddled and Leeta is a Zen master in the patience department.
Oh - and about exercising, Leeta doesn't use a Wii - she comes with a NordicTrac and has an I-pod implanted in her right next to the g.p.s. system...
More later.
